Ladies Interclub

Kelly Greens is a member of the Gulf Coast Women’s Interclub which has been going strong for over 25 years. The GCWI is comprised of  the following eight clubs : Kelly Greens, Highland Woods, Lexington, Olde Hickory, Worthington, Verandah, and Bonita National. There are 6 monthly 18 hole matches beginning in October and ending in April, with different clubs hosting each match. The players pay a fee of about $65-$75 which includes golf, cart and lunch. There is no official prizes just bragging rights of where Kelly Greens stands in the annual ranking of clubs. The game is an 18 hole Stableford, where you collect points for your net score for each hole, so if you have a bad hole its no biggie. Points are given for net eagles, birdies, pars, and bogeys. Each club sends 14 women to play and only the top six total points are used, which makes for less individual pressure and more fun! Foursomes are made up of women with like handicaps.

The monthly sign-up sheet is at the Golf Pro Shop and will be available on the day following a match. Any Kelly Greens golf  member with a handicap is eligible. The top six from the previous match are guaranteed a spot for the next match, and the list of monthly matches and dates is published in the golf calendar as well as on the KGLGA website. We encourage women to sign up as alternates as well, because we frequently need them. Shirts for Interclub can be purchased at the Golf Pro Shop if the player wishes to purchase one.

The GCWI’s helps members establish friendships, encourages rule knowledge and fair play.

Approximately 16 to 32 that try for tee times every Saturday morning, 12 months a year. The group plays 2 different games, a quota point game and a gross skin game each week.  Contact: John Dolan [email protected]

A  GHIN Index with the USGA is required to play with the group. An away GHIN works, but recommend you transfer to KG GHIN.  Your full converted handicap is used for the net skins game. The game is played by the rules, i.e, no preferred lies, etc. Owners, Tenants and Guests can play. Monday tee times for AM and/or PM play. Two flights: 3 and Combo tee combined and 4 and 5 tees combined. Number of participants vary each week range from 30-70. Game is individual Quota point and Gross/Net skins changing to just quota points from May – Oct. YES or NO for following weeks play.
Play results are published and issued as soon as practicable following play so you can see what everyone else did, who won, what they shot, where the skins were made, etc. Players are rotated so that they play with different players each week, this allows for meeting many of the other residents and /or tenants who they might not ever meet and is great for fostering new friendships, and imbibing with a nice cocktail or lunch after play. Golf Course

Driving Range & Practice Facility

Kelly Green’s golf practice range is designed with 6 large green like complexes with surrounding bunkers to help simulate what golfers may see on our wonderful golf course.  In addition, we boast a large putting green located in front of clubhouse overlooking the 15th and 18th holes.  On the north side of the range you will find a large chipping green, with bunkers, where you can enhance your short game skills to lower that handicap.  If you choose to take a lesson from one of our qualified PGA Professionals on staff, you will find our beautifully manicured teaching tee next to this chipping green.

Range balls are complimentary.

The Kelly Greens Golf & Country Club has been a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary since April 2018. There are only 173 golf courses in Florida and just over 1000 courses worldwide that hold designation as a certified Audubon Sanctuary. This program is designed to recognize Golf courses that maintain and demonstrate a high degree of environmental quality. To achieve certification a Golf Course must certify in six categories: Environmental Planning, Wildlife and Habitat Management, Outreach and Education, Integrated Pest Management, and Water Quality and Water Conservation.

We are very proud of this certification and are pleased to be leaders in the community by being environmental stewards.

Golf Course Dress Code
A golf handicap is a numerical measure of a golfer’s playing potential that is used to enable players of varying abilities to compete against one another. Better players are those with the lowest handicaps. Rules relating to handicaps used to vary  from country to country orld. Because of incompatibilities and difficulties in translating between systems the sports governing bodies, the United States Golf Association (USGA)  and The R&A (The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews), working with the various existing handicapping authorities, devised a new World Handicap System (WHS) which was introduced globally in 2020.

In-order to compete in any of Kelly Greens golf events members must have an official USGA golf handicap. Kelly Greens members are asked to post their scores in the GHIN software program each time after playing golf. GHIN is available online or alternatively golfers can use an application on their mobile device(s) by downloading it from either the Apple Store or Play Store. If a member forgets to enter their score a reminder is sent to that member by Email. To signup for this system please contact the Golf Pro Shop.
